Donald Trump caught lying about Kellyanne Conway’s Meet The Press debacle

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

When is the last time you saw Donald Trump do a television interview, or hold a press conference, or show his face in his self proclaimed role as “president-elect” in any meaningful way? You haven’t, because Trump has been hiding from the media and instead spewing whiny lies on Twitter all day, forcing his hapless surrogates to go on television and try to explain away his behavior. And now that Meet The Press has lost interest in giving airtime to his sidekicks, Trump is whining about that as well – and as it turns out, lying.

Meet The Press interviewed Donald Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway on for ten minutes, but decided to only air a single minute of it on Sunday morning. No reason was publicly stated, but given Conway’s penchant for lying on Trump’s behalf and refusing to ever answer the questions she’s being asked, NBC may have simply decided there was no longer any point in giving her a full segment. But that didn’t sit well with Trump, who tried to make a thing out of it – and now we have confirmation that Trump was faking his outrage because he already knew the real story.

Trump meekly tweeted that “Kellyanne Conway went to @MeetThePress this morning for an interview with @chucktodd. Dishonest media cut out 9 of her 10 minutes. Terrible!” But CNN host Brian Stelter is now confirming that an “NBC source says Team Trump knew (on Friday) that the show was only planning to run a sound bite from [Kellyanne Conway] not full interview.”

In other words, Donald Trump knew well in advance that most of Conway’s interview was not meant to air on Meet The Press, and he was being dishonest when he claimed it was an instance of “dishonest media.” Trump himself was the one who was lying about it.
