Corey Lewandowski just got caught in huge lie in Donald Trump’s Russia scandal

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Remember a month or two ago when Donald Trump was considering hiring his former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski to run some sort of war room to bring the Russia scandal media coverage under control? That ended up not going anywhere. And maybe this is why: Lewandowski stepped to the plate to try to protect Trump with regard to his son’s Russia meeting – and he ended up telling such a huge and obvious lie that it may have just made things even worse.

It’s been well established that Donald Trump was in New York City the day of Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting with the Russian government attorney. In fact on that day, June 9th, Trump was holding a fundraiser with Republicans at the Four Seasons, which is just a few hundred feet from where Junior was holding his meeting at Trump Tower. This fundraiser was widely reported on at the time, so there’s no question Trump was in New York on that day. But then Corey Lewandowski stepped to the plate.

Lewandowski appeared on Meet The Press Daily with Chuck Todd and inexplicably claimed that he had a clear recollection of being with Donald Trump in Florida on June 9th for a campaign rally. To its credit, MSNBC ended up refuting this claim, and pointing out that Trump was clearly in New York City that day (link):

So why on earth did Corey Lewandowski decide to go on national television and try to protect Donald Trump by claiming he was in Florida with him at the time of Junior’s meeting? If anything, it makes Trump look all the more suspicious. Why would he need to send one of his goons on TV to falsely claim that he was thousand miles away from his son’s meeting? Donald Trump must have had a whole lot more to do with that meeting than has been revealed. He’s using Lewandowski to protest way too much.
