Donald Trump unwittingly gives away that a major Trump-Russia bombshell is about to land

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

We’ve learned that a major bombshell in Donald Trump’s Russia scandal is about to make the headlines in short order. Where did we learn this from? Donald Trump himself. He has a consistent history of unwittingly giving away what he knows is about to land, after reporters call his White House for comment on the story just before it’s published. Now he’s gone and tipped his hand again.

When Trump began ranting angrily and offensively about Puerto Rico on Saturday morning, it initially appeared that he was simply trying to change the narrative when it came to his failed handling of the Puerto Rico crisis. He wanted the headlines to be “Trump feuds with San Juan mayor” instead of “Trump’s incompetence gets Americans killed in Puerto Rico.” But then things changed. Trump just kept going, and going, and going. He changed topics, and got even more bombastic. Eventually it became clear that this wasn’t even about Puerto Rico; it was about Russia.

By Saturday night, Trump was maniacally tweeting provocative nonsense about everything from football to hockey to the Alabama Senate race. He threw a kitchen sink full of garbage onto Twitter, and he continued doing so on Sunday. Trump only takes things this far when he’s desperate to create a distraction that can steal some headlines from an impending Russia bombshell. He did it just before his son’s Russia meeting was exposed. He did it just before the Russian Facebook ad buy surfaced. He consistently telegraphs these things. So what’s the Trump-Russia story that’s about to hit he wires?

This time around, Donald Trump hasn’t given away that part. But the logical next shoe to drop is that the Trump campaign was involved in the Russian ad buys on social media, and conspired with the Russian government to target those ads. If this is indeed what’s about to hit the wires in the next day or two, it’s no wonder Trump is staging his most emphatic meltdown to date. Contribute to Palmer Report
