If you’ve been under the impression that Donald Trump has been losing the last of his marbles while cracking under the pressure of the heightening Trump-Russia scandal, it turns out you’re correct. Trump has been unable to control himself as the Russia investigation has moved forward. More specifically, he blames his own “idiot” Attorney General Jeff Sessions for what now appears to be his own inevitable demise.

Trump has been going berserk over the Russia scandal dating back to at least the day Special Counsel Robert Mueller was appointed. According to a new report from the New York Times, Trump received the news about Mueller while in a meeting with Jeff Sessions and other advisers (link). Trump immediately flipped out, blaming Sessions for having recused himself from the investigation, and calling Sessions an “idiot” while accusing him of being disloyal. This was merely the beginning of Trump’s prolonged and worsening meltdown over the Russia investigation.

Last month it was reported that Trump leaned Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other Republican Senators in an attempt at getting them to either ease sanctions on Russia, or make the Russia investigation go away altogether. He received no positive responses, and he got so little cooperation from McConnell that the two of them ended up cursing each other out over the phone. Trump’s desperation on the sanctions deal suggests that, in addition to Mueller inevitably exposing the entirety of his crimes and scandals, he also fears that Russia might preemptively expose his scandals in order to finish him off before Mueller can.

Meanwhile, Jeff Sessions has decided to remain on the job despite all of the public and private insults Donald Trump has been hurling at him. The New York Times article (more politely) confirms what Palmer Report has been saying for months: Sessions is so eager to use the Attorney General job to carry out his white supremacist vision, he doesn’t care how much Trump abuses him in the process.
