Befuddled Donald Trump, after skipping intel briefings, asks “What is going on?”

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Just last week Donald Trump was taunting Americans by insisting that he knew something about the Russian hacking of the election that no one else know. Now that his own self imposed deadline for revealing this supposed information has come and gone without a peep, Trump is now trying a new strategy: admitting he has absolutely no idea what’s going on, with regard to any of it. We know this, because late last night Trump literally tweeted “What is going on?”

The trouble began around 10:00pm on Thursday when an increasingly defensive Donald Trump tried to counter the latest headlines about how the Russians rigged the election in his favor by tweeting the following question: “How did NBC get ‘an exclusive look into the top secret report he (Obama) was presented?’ Who gave them this report and why? Politics!” The dumb question backfired so badly that NBC News proceeded to taunt him by adding the tweet to its reporting on the matter. But then it got worse.

Trump then went on to tweet the incorrect claim that “The Democratic National Committee would not allow the FBI to study or see its computer info after it was supposedly hacked by Russia……” and then appeared to doze off with his thumb on the ‘period’ key at the end of the tweet, because he never did finish whatever his thought might have been.

But then about an hour later he appeared to wake up again, as he tweeted a question to no one in particular: “So how and why are they so sure about hacking if they never even requested an examination of the computer servers?” And then, as if to make it clear to anyone who hadn’t figured out that he was playing dumb, he added another question: “What is going on?” Then again, considering he’s been skipping most of his intel briefings, perhaps he’s the only one in America who doesn’t know what’s going on.
