Donald Trump reveals just how bad of a place he’s in
Yesterday, Palmer Report pointed out that Donald Trump appears to have run out of gas. He came home from his Asia trip in a subdued and worn-down mindset, and he’s largely failed to even so much as angrily erupt on Twitter. Last night it was revealed that Trump’s weekend schedule had no official events on it. That meant Trump was going to get bored and restless and he was going to start saying ignorant things eventually. This morning, Trump unwittingly revealed that he’s in a very bad place.
Trump’s first tweet this morning, and the only one with any hint of fire, went like this: “Crooked Hillary Clinton is the worst (and biggest) loser of all time. She just can’t stop, which is so good for the Republican Party. Hillary, get on with your life and give it another try in three years!” Nevermind that Trump lost to Hillary by three million votes even after he and his campaign conspired with the Russian government to rig the election in his favor. There’s more to this.
The nature and targets of Trump’s Twitter attacks have historically given away a lot about what kind of mindset he’s in. He attacks respected public figures when he’s feeling confident or in need of a distraction. He attacks the Democrats in Congress when he’s feeling defensive about his lack of accomplishments. He attacks his fellow Republicans in Congress when he’s desperate. Trump only circles back and attacks Hillary Clinton for random nonsense whenever he arrives at a true low point.
Donald Trump looked bruised and broken when he held his first press conference after returning from his Asia trip, after his son and son-in-law had both gotten sucked deeper into his Trump-Russia scandal. His subsequent lack of fiery tweets suggested he was on the verge of giving up. His random attack on Hillary this morning is an indicator that he truly is sinking into his own abyss.
