As he’s being buried by a Constitutional crisis, Donald Trump warns of “World War III”
Ten days into his presidency, Donald Trump’s erratic extremism has already prompted millions of Americans to take to the streets to protest against him, and he’s already set off a Constitutional crisis by refusing to instruct federal agents to comply with a federal court ruling. And now, with the controversy in danger of swallowing him whole, and an increasing number of Americans demanding he be impeached, he’s lashing out by publicly tweeting about “World War III.”
Trump has backed himself into such an extremist, unpopular, and plainly unconstitutional corner that even a number of prominent voices within his own party are now condemning him for it. Dozens of Democratic Senators and Congressman have been leading the charge against his Muslim ban, heading to airports and demanding that Border Patrol agents release the detainees. But some Republican Senators are also now coming out against him. Lindsey Graham and John McCain released a joint statement in opposition to the Muslim ban — and that set Trump off to the point that he’s now talking about World War III. Literally.
“The joint statement of former presidential candidates John McCain & Lindsey Graham is wrong – they are sadly weak on immigration,” Donald Trump tweeted on Sunday evening. He then continued with “The two Senators should focus their energies on ISIS, illegal immigration and border security instead of always looking to start World War III.”
So there we have it. Even as Donald Trump is in the process of being buried by a Constitutional crisis which putted him against the entire Judicial Branch, the majority of Americans, and even the majority of Senate, he’s blaming those who oppose him for being the ones who are trying to start World War III.
