After just five days on job, Donald Trump is already plotting a vacation for next week
To say that Donald Trump’s fist five days in the White House haven’t gone well for him would be to say that that Titanic’s maiden voyage didn’t go well for its captain. Trump has spent nearly the entire time arguing with no one in particular about the size of his inauguration crowd, picking nonsensical fights with the media, and facing the most ferocious protests in U.S. history. So what’s a guy to do when he’s off to a horrible start at his new job? He’s taking a vacation, of course.
In a stunning feature in the New York Times today, Donald Trump opened up about just how difficult the job has been for him thus far. He appears to believe the American people will be impressed that he’s taking meetings starting at nine in the morning, something which he’s also been announcing on Twitter, as if that’s not simply what’s expected of him.

Trump has also expressed surprise at how much walking he has to do in order to go about doing his job in the various spread out rooms of the White House. He’s admitting that he’s still watching three hours, or perhaps more, of cable news each day (which would explain some of his bizarre tweets). And even though he basically spent the first three of his five days on the job enjoying an at-home vacation, he’s looking to officially get out of town as soon as possible:
“Mr. Trump is in the meantime pondering his first break away from the White House, a potential trip to Mar-a-Lago, his private club in Palm Beach, Fla., possibly the weekend of Feb. 3.”
That’s right, Donald Trump has been on the job for all of five days, and he’s already announced that he’ll be taking a Florida vacation next week. Trump is literally one step away from yelling “I’m going to Disney World!” Considering just how historically low his approval ratings are, many Americans are likely wishing he wouldn’t bother to come back.
