Looks like Donald Trump got up at 6am today just to watch himself on television

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

When Donald Trump wakes up in a bad mood, Americans tend to find out about it in real time, because he reaches for his phone and begins firing off angry missives on Twitter. It doesn’t happen every morning, but when it does, it’ll begin in the neighborhood of 7:30am eastern time. So it was a bit odd that Trump went on a Twitter bender beginning at 5:39am this morning. But then he went on to reveal the real reason he was up so early.

Here’s what Donald Trump tweeted at 5:39 this morning: “The weak illegal immigration policies of the Obama Admin. allowed bad MS 13 gangs to form in cities across U.S. We are removing them fast!” (link). This prompted other Twitter users to make fun of him, asking if there were any such thing as “good” gangs, and if he had perhaps merely heard about MS-13 for the first time while watching a fictional crime drama the night before (as always, we recommend he try Twitter for Dummies). But why was he up and ranting so much earlier than usual?

Here came Trump’s next tweet nine minutes later at 5:48am: “I will be interviewed on @foxandfriends by @ainsleyearhardt starting at 6:00 A.M. Enjoy!” (link). Ah, so he got up early to do a television interview? As it turns out, no. Ainsley Earhardt’s Fox News colleague Sean Hannity revealed that the interview had been pre-taped at the White House the day before (link). So this means Donald Trump didn’t wake up an hour and a half earlier than usual today to participate in an interview. Instead it looks like he got up early just to watch himself on television.
