This part can’t be ignored
While what Donald Trump and his henchmen did to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s family was bad, the worst damage was inflicted on Shaye Freeman Moss. Through no doing of her own, Moss became the target of election conspiracy theorists because of Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani, both of whom should be ashamed.
Giuliani claimed to have seen Moss and her mother, Ruby Freeman, passing “a suspicious USB drive” while they were counting ballots in Fulton County. Moss testified to the committee that her mother passed her a mint. Trump took Giuliani’s lie and expounded on it by repeating Moss’s name over 18 times in his call with Raffensperger according to the Hill. This is ridiculous even for these two, and it makes them look like the idiots they are, especially when Trump started babbling about “suitcases full of ballots” during the call.
The Hill reported that Moss was in tears as she testified before the committee. She told the committee: “It’s turned my life upside down. I no longer give out my business card. I don’t transfer calls. I don’t want anyone knowing my name.” This is a damned shame. This woman worked in elections for 10 years. She was proud of her role because so many before her weren’t allowed the right to vote. CNN’s Chris Cillizza called Moss “the single most powerful witness” who has appeared to date. He gave additional details on her testimony. Cillizza wrote: “Trump called Freeman a ‘professional vote scammer’ and a ‘hustler.'” Giuliani claimed that Moss and her mother were passing USB drives “like vials of cocaine or heroin.” Unbelievable. Moss also shared that people had tried to break into her home and that she has received racist threats.
Donald Trump has done nothing but lie. He lied while in office, hiding the truth about Covid until it was out of control, and he lied about why he lost the election, yet it is others who suffer from his lies, not him. The best thing to come out of Tuesday’s hearings, however, is that Trump was directly tied to the fake elector scheme.
CNN reported that “multiple witnesses” told the committee that Donald Trump was personally involved in the scheme. Even Ronna McDaniel testified by video that Trump and Eastman asked the RNC to “reach out and assemble” fake electors to overturn the election. Rusty Bowers, Speaker of the Arizona House of Representatives, testified that Trump called him directly with the idea, urging him to get involved. Bowers responded: “I told them I did not want to be used as a pawn.” Bowers was approached by Giuliani and Eastman, and he was also approached by Andy Biggs. Biggs’s involvement should come as no surprise, and neither should Ron Johnson’s, which only recently came to light. According to CNN, Johnson asked a Pence aide how to deliver the fake electors to Pence.
If this were not real life, it would make one hell of a fantasy thriller. Unfortunately, it is all too true, and we continue to suffer the consequences of one power hungry, insane man.
