The Fox News meltdown
It’s hard to believe there was a time when women were not allowed to vote. But we know there was. The Suffrage movement changed things. But still, even in the year 2022, the fact is that there are some men who just do not seem to like that women have equal rights. One of them is Fox News pundit Jesse Watters.
This is my second article about Watters in just a few days. But I feel I must write about what he said because his misogynistic comments echo what many in the GOP privately think. On Thursday, he came out against single women. Urging them to get married and: settle down,” the Watters misogynist ordered them to stop voting for democrats.
“Single women and voters under 40 have been captured by Democrats.”
“We need these ladies to get married. It’s time to fall in love and just settle down. Guys, go put a ring on it.”
These unbelievable comments were so infuriating some are calling for a boycott of Fox advertisers. But let’s talk about Watters and his mixed-up and paranoid world.
“I am Watters, and this is my world” seems to be the woman-hating pundit’s favorite term. I’d like to change it to: “I am Watters, and misogyny is my world.”
The man appears to be living in Caveman times. But he isn’t alone. Ohio Senator elect JD Vance has repeatedly expressed his contempt for single women, derisively making fun of their love of cats (as if only single women own cats) and also suggesting women in abusive relationships stay married.
So what can we do about Watters and his misogynistic world? What can we do about men like JD Vance? We are already doing it. The red wave did not happen in part because women rebelled. Women, with the casting of their votes, basically told Watters and his ilk to f### off. And it felt good — didn’t it?
So as much as I hate to hear this stuff from clueless morons like Watters, they persist in helping us win elections. And because they’re so very stupid, they do not even have a clue this is so.
