IHOP retweets horrible message about Hillary Clinton for no apparent reason

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Someone working for the International House of Pancakes appears to have an international hell of a problem on their hands. The official verified Twitter account for IHOP is typically used to respond helpfully and cheerfully to customers who mention the restaurant online. But for still unknown reasons, IHOP announced on today Twitter that Hillary Clinton had run a “major garbage campaign” for president — prompting confusion and pushback.

After a Twitter user named “Pooja” posted a tweet which read “Also good morning to everyone except Americans who don’t want to accept the simple fact that Hillary Clinton had a major garbage campaign,” the official IHOP account decided to retweet that message. It’s since been deleted, but it’s already screen capped for posterity:

We’re assuming that the person managing the @IHOP Twitter account retweeted the wrong tweet by accident, or some other similar explanation. IHOP now says it’s investigating. Meanwhile, even Pooja is expressing confusion as to why her political screed was retweeted, declaring “I haven’t ever eaten at IHOP.”
