If Barack Obama and Donald Trump were movies they would be, respectively, “Citizen Kane” and “Plan 9 from Outer Space.” If you’ve never seen either, “Kane” is brilliantly and subtly crafted, superbly filmed and acted, enormously satisfying and wholly unlike any other movie ever made up to its release in 1941. “Plan 9” is dreadful, boring, slovenly, slipshod and so bad it’s funny. If Obama and Trump were books they would be “Ulysses” and “Fifty Shades of Grey,” respectively.

You get the idea. These analogies are my birthday presents to Donald Trump, who turns 74 today. I wish they could be more expensive, more devastating and more personally insulting. But you know what they say, it’s the thought that counts.

I am personally offended that this this child rapist, this murderer, this destroyer of family businesses, this traitor, this thief, this defiler of every woman he’s ever gotten close to, this racist, this xenophobe, this petulant baby, this spoiled brat, this con man, this career criminal is president of the United States. Not to wish time away, but I look forward to January. I look forward to seeing Trump’s face when he’s unceremoniously ejected from the White House. I look forward to his humiliation after his presidency has been overwhelmingly repudiated by the American people. It will be the most schadenfreude moment in my life. Sometimes vengeance is a dish best served red hot.

In honor of Trump’s birthday, I have also presented him with a gift on Twitter (@RAHarrington), a large photograph of Barack Obama unveiling his own presidential portrait. Please feel free to go ye therefore and do likewise.

Today is the day to bombard Donald Trump with images, references and quotes of one of the great Americans of our lifetimes, President Barack Obama. Today is the day to remind Donald Trump that, no matter how much he resents Barack Obama, he will never diminish the love and admiration Americans hold for his predecessor, nor will he ever be able to destroy his legacy. History will forever hold Barack Obama’s magnificent presidency in stark contrast to Donald Trump’s failed presidency. The legacy of Barack Obama will remain history’s rebuke of Trump’s malignant failure — forever.

My usual take on birthdays is they represent a milestone in the life of every decent person, and as such are times to stop, reflect and celebrate that life. For me, in the case of Donald Trump, his birthday represents one step closer to his grave, one more increment toward that blessed day when planet earth will finally be rid of this malevolent bastard and his despicable influence. It is in the spirit of that idea that I celebrate his birthday. As for the rest of you, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, comrades and friends, stay safe.
