The utter failure of Texas Governor Greg Abbott

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Representative Michael McCaul (R-TX) does not get it. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Beto O’Rourke are helping people. She is not “crossing party lines.” Whether people in Texas voted Democrat or Republican or neither, they are being helped. It is too bad that McCaul isn’t part of that.

It is a good thing that President Biden has declared Texas as a disaster area. The majority of Texas is not serviced by connecting to the federal grid. Texas’ solution failed. Texas needs to figure out a solution to the need for energy so that they don’t suffer another similar disaster. Texas needs to change their values to work toward a solution that satisfies the needs of the community.

Texas households suffered without the benefit of utilities when it was very cold. Texas households are receiving electricity bills in the thousands of dollars. Yes, something needs to be done about the bills. And something needs to be done about the design of utilities so that they serve the community. Governor Abbott was wrong when he blamed alternative energy. That also means that Governor Abbot is not capable of leading his state toward a better utility design. I think the GOP failed Texas.
