The real reason Tom Cotton is trying to hold up Merrick Garland

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $3760 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,

Senator Tom Cotton (Insurrection Party-Arkansas) is temporarily holding up Merrick Garland’s confirmation. The Senator alleges that Garland refuses to “answer basic questions.” This is, of course, absurd and means nothing. Garland will be confirmed. He has bipartisan support, so all Cotton’s little stunt is doing is wasting yet another few days.

The reason Republicans pull this garbage is easy enough to figure out. They all want to run for President in 2024. They all want to be the “next Trump.” But the truth is none of these idiots stand a chance. Let’s break it down.

First, we have Josh Hawley. The Missouri Senator will never win the nomination. This is primarily due to his fist pump, which I have dubbed “the fist-pump seen worldwide.” Do not make the mistake of thinking Republicans will defend him. We have seen Presidential primaries before, and the next one will be no different.

Hawley will be regarded as easy pickings due to that fist pump, so all his “friends” will turn on him like a pack of hungry wolves. Hawley, if he tries to run, will realize that very quickly.

Next up is Senator Ted Cruz. The Texas Senator is universally hated, even by members of his party who will be happy to accuse him of abandoning his constituents, which he did for some fun in Mexico. Cruz is also losing whatever popularity he had relatively quickly.

And then there’s Cotton with his bright idea to increase the Federal Minimum wage to $10 per hour. (It is already $11 in his state.) Cotton will never be President, although the Arkansas Senator appears not to realize this.

The truth is the likely candidate for the insurrection party will most likely be someone we are not even discussing right now. It’s a long time away. But still, these clueless Republicans will persist in their divisiveness, thinking they look courageous. They will have a rude awakening in 2024.
