The big coverup begins for Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds
Iowa’s Governor Kim “CovidKim” Reynolds has decided to end the public health emergency for COVID-19 that was declared in March 2020. As a result, the state will shut down its COVID dashboard and change how it reports data to make it even more difficult to get a true picture of what is going on. Test positivity will no longer be reported, and people will have to calculate COVID figures (which given how Iowa’s Branch Trumpvidian government has manipulated numbers might be a good thing).
Meanwhile, back in reality COVID cases continue to soar in Iowa. Dubuque County, for example, reported a large spike in the number of active cases, the largest in about 15 months. The actual number of cases is probably higher due to the number of people using take-home tests and not reporting the results to anyone. This shows that the ending of the emergency is not warranted at this time and it’s more of a political stunt by CovidKim and Iowa’s GQP government than anything else.
The heck of it is, if CovidKim, RonaRon, CovidKristi, Greg Abbott, and the other GQP politicians up to and including Orange F—k Face (OFF) had taken COVID seriously and did not actively work to sabotage the response we would have reached the point where the public health emergencies could have been responsibly ended months ago and COVID could be a fading bad memory. But OFF and the GQP decided it was more important to appeal to their Branch Trumpvidian base than to do what is best for this country, which is why we’re still in the middle of the pandemic. And why CovidKim’s latest move is nothing more than a political stunt.
