Rand Paul just reminded us how truly hideous he is
There are many despicable Republicans in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. But Senator Rand Paul is definitely at the top of the list. Since the start of the impeachment trial, we have heard moving, and visceral testimony of just how close to real danger people in the Capitol were. And some tragically did not make it out.
The evidence presented has resonated on a profoundly emotional level. At least it has for most of us. However, Senator Rand Paul seems to have other things on his mind.
Senator Paul tweeted this hateful and barbaric tweet: “Rep Raskin says Trump promoted the ‘big lie’ that the election was stolen but didn’t Raskin promote the ‘big lie’ that Trump stole the election in 2016? Wasn’t it Jamie Raskin who ‘incited violence’ by objecting to Trump electors”?
I am speechless. This is what Paul is thinking about when videos are playing, showing how so many members of Congress almost lost their lives? And how dare he attack Raskin? Raskin is a unique and brave man who is presenting this case, despite recently losing his son. How vicious must Paul be? How soulless of an individual?
It has also been widely reported that Senator Paul is not paying attention to what is going on around him during the trial. Instead, the Senator is amusing himself by doodling and sending texts. Senator Paul should think about resigning. He is an embarrassment to himself and the people of Kentucky.
