Rachel Maddow wins big

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

A week does not go by in which Fox News’ Tucker Carlson is not accurately being called out for saying something completely racist, sexist, or just straight up hateful. In fact, that’s pretty much what he’s known for. This week, Carlson attacked the United States military, and he rightfully got a lot of pushback from active and former military leaders.

A similar thing could be said for the rest of the Fox News lineup. Whether it’s Sean Hannity, Jeanine Pirro, or Laura Ingraham, the entire organization is a cesspool of hateful, racist rhetoric. Their entire program lineup consists of nothing more than xenophobic fear mongering and straight up gaslighting while repeatedly promoting debunked conspiracy theories.

In the past month, Fox News dropped into third place among major broadcasters. This could mean a couple things. Either people are sick and tired of the massive lies they are being told, or Fox is aware of their drop and think they need to increase the gaslighting and propaganda to bring those viewers back. Either way, it’s not good for America.

While Fox News is failing, there is one person on a different network who is certainly excelling. On Sunday night it was announced that Rachel Maddow, host of MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show, won the Grammy Award for her reading of her book, “Blowout: Corrupted Democracy, Rogue State Russia, and the Richest, Most Destructive Industry on Earth” that was published in 2019.

Not only did Maddow just win a Grammy Award, but her show has been recently rated higher than any other show. In February, MSNBC had the most total day viewers and The Rachel Maddow Show was the highest rated show. It turns out, despite what Fox News might think, you can tell the truth while also winning awards and having the highest audience share!
