Good riddance to Mike Pompeo

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

“Woke-ism, multiculturalism, all the -isms ‒ they’re not who America is. They distort our glorious founding and what this country is all about. Our enemies stoke these divisions because they know they make us weaker,” Trump’s now-gone Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said this week. After sighing, rolling eyes, and gnashing teeth, let’s delve into this latest rubbish from Pompeo. Pompeo will hopefully stay off the radar and crawl back under his rock now that his tenure is over.

This corrupt, backwards man was never worthy of the office of Secretary of State, and he has certainly not helped us out on the world stage. This statement from Pompeo shows that he may in fact be ignorant of what this country actually is all about, and the statement shows that Pompeo doesn’t understand that much about our founding isn’t really all that glorious. White Europeans took land from Native Americans and then proceeded to build the country with Black slave labor. That’s not glorious.

This country has an uncomfortable, difficult, and oftentimes tragic past. No, its founding was not uniformly honorable or glorious. We’ve overcome a lot, but we still have so much to do when it comes to truth and reconciliation. Governmentally, we’ve gone backwards these past four years. We need justice and an acknowledgment of past and ongoing wrongs. Like it or not, we are indeed a multicultural society, and from this we derive strength and purpose. Who does Mike Pompeo think built the country? Who does he think continues to build the country? It’s a collective, continuous effort. Our country is indeed about multiculturalism, and Pompeo would do well to familiarize himself with our national motto: “e pluribus unum,” or “out of many, one.” Stay woke, y’all.
