Marjorie Taylor Greene is at it again

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

GOP Congress member Marjorie Taylor Greene has done another ridiculous legislative stunt. She has introduced two bills into Congress that would eliminate Dr. Anthony Fauci’s salary and ban vaccine proof cards, commonly referred to as “vaccine passports.”

The “Fire Fauci Act” proposed by Greene would cut the salary of Dr. Fauci to zero until Congress names a successor to him. It doesn’t matter to Representative Nutcase that Dr. Fauci is one of the most indispensable people in the Federal Government, or that cutting his salary mid-term is most likely not legally possible. Greene seems determined to continue Former Guy Trump’s policy of firing any Federal official that she disagrees with, no matter how competent they may be.

Greene’s “We Will Not Comply Act” would ban businesses engaged in interstate commerce from requiring proof of COVID vaccination before being allowed to engage with customers and patrons of the business. Apparently, Greene and her followers think that a vaccination proof designation or card is some sort of evil satanic or Nazi mark of doom.

Democratic Sen. Ted Lieu said the new legislation proposed by Greene are examples of why congressional members need competent staff to help in prevention of “stupid nonsensical bills.”

If Greene wanted to sponsor a really helpful and constructive piece of legislation, I suggest she start by proposing a bill to cut her congressional salary to zero until she is replaced by the voters, which would truly reflect her value to the operations of the Federal Government.
