Kevin McCarthy is drowning in his own idiocy
Congressman Kevin McCarthy (unable to stop making stupid comments-insurrection party-California) has once again made a fool of himself. This week, McCarthy compared President Joe Biden to the former guy. And Kevin’s words of choice involved energy.
“But at no time, having known Joe Biden for quite some time, does he have the energy of Donald Trump. We both know it. Donald Trump didn’t need to sleep five hours a night.”
This man is actually a politician, readers! This comment also called the term “Adderall” to trend on Twitter.
In my eyes, McCarthy’s comments are just pathetic. And they show us once again how easy it will be to beat the insurrection party if we put our minds to it (and if McCarthy keeps speaking.)
What we are seeing is a cowardly little man who has openly given away his power, his individuality, and his self-respect-if he ever had those things, to begin with. Kevin McCarthy wants to be the speaker. He wants to be the speaker for a MAJORITY party.
So, he is throwing his lot in with a man who could not have cared less about what happened to McCarthy on January 6th.
Do not fool yourselves that McCarthy doesn’t know exactly who and what the former guy is. He does. He doesn’t care. At least he doesn’t care enough to stand up to him. Power means more to McCarthy than anything right now.
But he has no power. Kevin McCarthy is nothing more than the plaything of Donald Trump. As the midterms swirl ever closer, McCarthy will find himself even more hemmed in. He will not be able to back a candidate without the former guy’s permission. Indeed, he won’t be able to speak out about much of anything without the former guy’s approval.
Kevin McCarthy cannot be an effective leader because he’s become an object of scorn. One wonders if and when he will realize this.
