House Republicans are completely full of crap on Marjorie Taylor Greene

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Marjorie Taylor Greene has been stripped of her committee seats by a vote of 230-199, including 11 Republicans voting with Democrats. Republicans are already threatening that it will be the Democrat’s turn eventually. One of the Republicans voting against Greene was Maria Salazar from Florida’s 27th district.

In a statement posted on Twitter, Salazar states that she must do the same for Greene because she has held Representative Omar to task for anti-Semitic comments. She ends her statement that she will keep all Democrats to a standard they created.

Here comes the lie, and it’s a doozy: Omar’s statements were the same as saying Jews used a space laser to start the wildfires, the Sandy Hook shooting didn’t take place, and 9/11 was an inside job. Omar’s statement was the same as a Facebook picture of Greene holding an AR-15 stating she was “The Squads Biggest Enemy,” posted summer of 2020.

There is no room for anti-Semitism or any excuse for it. Democrats in 2017 passed a resolution to condemn “anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, racism, and other forms of bigotry.” False equivalency will, however, be the name of the game for the GOP heading forward.

Greene took to the floor before the vote to plead her case that she was misinformed because things didn’t make sense in the media. She acknowledged school shootings were real but never retracted Sandy Hook. She never apologized for her words but clung to the technicality of, “I never mentioned QAnon on the campaign trail.” It’s also worth noting that Greene never apologizes to “The Squad” for her Facebook post last year.

Also worth noting is that while she did not say certain things on the campaign trail, she did like and promoted QAnon on posts. People paid attention.

Republicans will move forward with false equivalencies now as a means of revenge. If Greene was so easily misled to follow such apparent lies, she has no business sitting on the education committee or in Congress’s halls.
