Fox News stooge Maria Bartiromo goes completely off the rails

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

It’s been years since Maria Bartiromo has been considered a respected and knowledgeable journalist. Once a reporter with a bright future, especially noted for her understanding of financial markets, Bartiromo has somehow lost her way and lost the plot. Now she’s a talking head of propaganda and hate for Fox News, the entertainment and disinformation network.

These days, Bartiromo is full of falsehoods and vitriol. Evidence of this was seen in her interview this weekend with Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), the weak and discombobulated House Minority Leader. Mustering all the faux outrage she could against President Biden, Bartiromo asked McCarthy if he intended to invoke the 25th amendment to remove the commander in chief owing to the situation in Afghanistan. Bartiromo’s exact question was: “Will you look at the 25th Amendment?” There’s a big problem with that.

It isn’t in McCarthy’s power to invoke the 25th amendment, as that role belongs uniquely to the vice president and a majority of cabinet members. The amendment in question is meant to temporarily yield power to the vice president should the president be impaired and unable to carry out his duties. Also, there’s nothing going on that would warrant invocation of the 25th amendment. This was a doubly naïve question by Bartiromo, and McCarthy was remiss not to correct her on it. This is just another example of why Fox News and dealers in disinformation like Bartiromo and McCarthy are bad for the country.
