Don Lemon bulldozes Ron Johnson

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Everybody sane knows that the comments made by Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson regarding the Capitol attack were loathsome. Johnson said that he felt no fear because the terrorists were good people who love our country. He also said had they been Antifa or Black Lives Matter members, he may have been scared.

As if those comments were not idiotic enough, when people justifiably were angered, he accused them of “playing the race card.” That is also a moronic comment. And CNN host Don Lemon knows it. Lemon eviscerated Johnson on his show. He did it eloquently and with grace and wisdom.

Lemon said that phrase “playing the race card” has no inherent meaning, and all it does is attempt to normalize the catastrophic events of January 6th. Speaking earnestly, Lemon said that phrase is just a term used by many a racist who wants to claim they ARE NOT racists. Great job, Don.

Lemon then had a pleasant surprise for us. He brought on Al Gore as a guest to hash things out. It was so lovely to see our former President-elect from 2000 (that was not a typo.) Gore has never sounded better. He expressed how thrilled and proud he was of President Biden and said he thought Biden had the strongest start of any President since Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Gore also spoke about the 250 plus voter suppression bills and expressed his concern. In his opinion, the Filibuster needs to go, and if that cannot be done, he feels the Democrats need to make reforms to the Filibuster, particularly when it comes to voter rights. He would also like to see automatic voter registration. So it was a beautifully done and hopeful segment. Props to Lemon and Gore, and hopefully, we will see action on these vitally important issues.
