Bad news for the Supreme Court
It is never good to let one’s personal beliefs influence the way one does one’s job. Actually, it is a straight-up bad idea. It is a terrible idea if one’s job title is Supreme Court Justice. As we have seen lately, the Supreme Court has been failing the American people at a rapid pace.
This is evidenced by their cowardly refusal to address the specifics of the Texas Handmaid’s law. Instead, what they did was give a non-opinion, in the dead of night, while millions slept, blissfully unaware the “people’s court” was royally screwing with the rights of women everywhere.
Of course, we still have a few good ones. But the bad far outweighs the good, and I think they themselves know it, judging by the pathetic mansplaining Justice Clarence Thomas attempted to do. And let’s not forget Amy Handmaid Barrett whining about how the Supreme Court is not partisan. Right.
I’ve got news for Barrett. The American people don’t agree. A new poll is out, and it shows stunning news for the hapless Court.
Gallup Polling shows that the popularity of the Court is stunningly low. Apparently, this is the lowest the Court’s approval rating has been in more than 20 YEARS.
Way to go, Justices! That is what happens when you make cowardly and reckless decisions. The people may have been sleeping when you signed off on that non-opinion, but everybody heard about it the next day — after all, America is a pretty intelligent country.
The new poll revealed that a measly 40 percent of people approve of the highest Court in the land. This is a nine percent decrease. And what’s funny is, per Newsweek, back in July of last year, the Court’s approval rating stood at almost 60 percent.
The poll by Gallup also shows an increase in people thinking the Court has become too conservative. Sigh. Sorry, Charlie. It gets better. Reportedly, the top concern among those poled is the Texas handmaid law. It appears, despite the Supreme Court’s pleading with the public not to view them as partisan, the American people do indeed regard them as partisan. Nice job, Justices!
