Zelenskyy comes out swinging

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

“Why should you die?” This is the question that Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked Russian troops in an address in a video posted on Tuesday. In this video, President Zelenskyy asks that Russian troops regroup — and surrender.

“On behalf of the Ukrainian people, I give you a chance,” he said. “If you will surrender to our forces, we will give treat you the way people are supposed to be treated — as people, decently.” Zelenskyy has made other addresses like this. He has also spoken about how some Russian troops were fleeing the battlefield — and says the Russian military has a chance to do the right thing.

Zelenskyy also said on Monday evening that Russian troops had suffered crippling losses — with more of their soldiers dying in Ukraine than it did in its two Chechen wars. Zeleskyy also took the time to praise protester and journalist Marina Ovsyannikova for her bold and audacious efforts to inform the people of Russia about what is really happening.

As we go forward, Ukraine has the support of most of the world. All eyes are on them, and our hearts are with them, especially President Joe Biden’s. President Biden has signed a military relief package for Ukraine into law, continuing to lead by example. This package will offer aid in the form of 13.6 billion dollars.

With the signing of this bill, Biden says the United States is “moving urgently to further augment the support to the brave people of Ukraine as they defend their country.” We are so fortunate to have a man like Biden leading this country.
