You’re Damned Right I’m Angry

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

This past Saturday Donald Trump placed a call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to ask him to “find 11,780 votes.” During an hour-long call, Trump implored Raffensperger to find additional votes to overturn Georgia’s results. This was not simply Trump asking Raffensperger for yet a fourth recount in Georgia; he asked Raffensperger to rig the election after the fact. “The people of Georgia are angry, the people in the country are angry,” said Trump, “and there’s nothing wrong with saying, you know, um, that you’ve recalculated.” Seriously, Trump? Well, if this citizen of Georgia was not angry before, I certainly am now. The nerve of this man. His inability to move on from his defeat is not only puzzling, but it has now become criminal.

Raffensperger’s attorney, Ryan Germany, took over the call after Trump made some particularly outlandish claims. First, Trump claimed that Fulton County shredded votes, according to “a rumor.” He then alleged that Dominion had “quickly removed” voting machines, which Trump also “heard.” Germany told Trump that neither claim was true, yet Trump persisted by asking whether Dominion had changed the guts of the machines instead. Listening to this recording clearly reveals how unhinged Donald Trump has become: “There’s no way I lost Georgia. There’s no way. We won by hundreds of thousands of votes.”

The Washington Post reported that Mark Meadows was on the call, as well as Cleta Mitchell, a GOP lawyer, among others. Surely, they know how crazy Trump sounded and that what he requested is unlawful. Mitchell, according to the Post, asked Raffensperger to “show us your records.” No, you, Trump, and everyone else claiming that Georgia — or any other state — was rigged in Biden’s favor should show their evidence. They cannot do so because they have none. This issue has been repeatedly litigated, and had there been evidence, it would have been produced in a court of law. Because there is none, Trump called to harass Brad Raffensperger. Who else has he called and harassed?

Donald Trump has no shame. He tweeted on Sunday that he had spoken with Raffensperger. Did he tweet to apologize for trying to strongarm him or perhaps to apologize for trying to get him to break the law? Of course not. He tweeted that because Raffensperger refused to bend to Trump’s request, Raffensperber “has no clue!” Trump is the one with no clue. Is he honestly not aware that he’s engaged in election fraud?

Trump also issued a veiled threat to Raffensperger, telling him that if he does not “do something” by Tuesday, Loeffler’s and Perdue’s chances of returning to the Senate would be jeopardized. Brad Raffensperger neither flinched nor stooped to Trump’s level. After an hour of listening to Trump’s nonsense, Raffensperger said, “Thank you, President Trump, for your time,” the perfect way to end an hour-long ranting session with a criminally insane man.
