You weren’t imagining it
Last night I had this wild dream where Donald Trump spent the debate talking about eating dogs and Kamala Harris won the debate by such a glaring margin that even the media uniformly admitted she won. No wait, that really happened. It wasn’t a dream – just a dream come true.
The numbers are starting to come in, and they say the same. CNN’s instant polling found that 67% of all viewers thought Harris won. About 90% of the Washington Post’s swing state focus group members thought Harris won. Even some talking heads on Fox News basically admitted that Trump struggled and lost. It was that kind of massive gap.
I’ll warn you again that this election isn’t over. Presidential elections are never over. Seven points is considered a blowout win, yet you can win the popular vote by five points and still lose the Electoral College. This isn’t meant to rain on our parade. It’s just a reminder that while last night was a dream come true and a huge victory, we still can’t assume this election is in hand. We still have to keep working and run up the score, in order to leave zero chance and zero doubt. Kamala Harris certainly did her part last night. Now let’s do ours.
