You knew it was coming: Donald Trump begins attacking Fox News

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Usually when it comes to polls, Donald Trump will always manage to find some poll that shows him in the lead – even if it’s just his approval rating among Republican voters. It’s probably one of the only things he’s actually good at – even if the poll is far from being grounded in reality – with a whole lot of them likely tailor made just to show results that he likes.

Therefore, you know that something is off when he starts lashing out at Fox News polls on Truth Social. There’s nothing he can really lie about and present to his fans. It’s just more of the “everyone’s out to get me” rhetoric that has pretty much always been a staple of his campaign – but now it’s really just the only note he has left, drowning out much of the crazy authoritarian policy stuff.

Things are going to get worse as Jack Smith’s case closes in, with his overall approval – even among Republicans showing a drop since May – while his favorability rate is also plunging by ten points.

This is not only bad news for Trump or the crumbling GOP, but it also flies in the face of just about every pundit who was promising us how the former guy’s favorability would explode with Republican voters and he was finally – this time – more dangerous than he’s ever been. Rather than any sign of making him a martyr, Trump is actually losing support as his legal troubles are worsening, with just under half of Republicans picking him as their first choice for president.
