Yet another key Donald Trump White House adviser heads for the hills
Donald Trump’s advisers resign so frequently, and often so scandalously, it’s been difficult to keep track of all the comings and goings. Actually, it’s mostly been just goings, as Trump often declines to even bother to replace his people when they quit or he fires them. Today, yet another key Trump White House adviser is heading for the exit door.
For quite some time now we’ve been hearing about Donald Trump’s secret Middle East peace plan. In reality there probably is no plan, of course. Trump’s foreign policy seems to be based on which corrupt leaders are willing to shove money in his pocket at any given time, and that doesn’t tend to result in peace for anyone. But now Jason Greenblatt, who was nominally in charge of Trump’s peace plan, is leaving the building. So what happened?
Donald Trump doesn’t have much to say about why Greenblatt is leaving, as he tweeted this morning that the guy is going to “pursue work in the private sector.” The New York Times doesn’t seem to know why he’s leaving. For all we know, he just got tired. White House advisers do tend to have a high burnout rate in general. What stands out here is the sheer number of resignations in Trump’s chaotic and collapsing White House, which are whole number multiples larger than what you’d see in any other White House.
Last month Donald Trump’s longtime White House personal assistant was forced to resign after she told reporters that Trump doesn’t like to be photographed with his daughter Tiffany due to her physical appearance. Michael Flynn was forced to resign from the White House, and he’s since pleaded guilty to a felony and is likely headed to prison.
