Yes, Donald Trump is going to prison
I’ve always maintained that the similarities between Trump and Charles Manson are a bit frightening and very evident. Both of them were and are immoral, and both cut from the same cloth. Both had the gift of gab and were able to inspire people of the lowest common denominator through utilizing rage.
Both were responsible for murder, mayhem, and destruction, and both did it without laying one finger on anyone. Both developed a devoted cult who would and have done anything their masters so decided. And both were and are repugnant.
Manson was convicted for his crimes in a trial that mesmerized this country. Will the same happen with Trump? I believe it will. There are more than enough investigations going on into him, and I think some or all of said investigations will be successful. What happens then?
It seems evident to me that certain folks will not lose their Trump ardor. In fact, it might grow. For people like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Madison Cawthorn, they will denounce Trump’s arrest, branding it a political arrest and referring to Trump as a prisoner of war.
Assolini, of course, will be all-in on that one. And Lindsey Graham and others will solemnly appear on Fox to glowing recount their visits to the insurrectionist and prisoner. But most people will see the arrest for what it is — consequences for a vile and evil human being.
I know some do not agree this floundering orange ball of jelly will ever see the inside of a prison cell. It’s fine to agree to disagree. But I do think it will happen. And when it does, we will all feel just a little bit lighter.
