Yes, New York is going to criminally indict Donald Trump after it indicts the Trump Organization
Now that we’re just a few days (or maybe just hours) away from the initial criminal indictments in the New York criminal investigation into Donald Trump and the Trump Organization, Trump’s lawyers are doing what they can to muddy the waters. Unfortunately, large chunks of the mainstream media are eagerly taking the bait.
Trump’s lawyers are claiming that they’ve been told by New York prosecutors that Donald Trump himself won’t be indicted in the first round of indictments. Well, duh. It’s already been reported by multiple major newspapers that the first round of indictments will be against Allen Weisselberg and the Trump Organization. Prosecutors wouldn’t be indicting a small company like the Trump Organization unless it has proof that its top executives were in on a criminal conspiracy. So this is, rather obviously, a precursor to indicting them individually. It’s not difficult to parse that this opening round of indictments is intended to shatter the Trump family, financially and personally, beforehand.
In spite of all this, Politico has published an article with the inaccurate headline “Trump lawyer: Manhattan DA won’t charge former president.” This has given off the false impression that Donald Trump won’t be indicted at all – just like Trump’s lawyers were hoping would happen when they issued their trickily worded statement about Donald Trump not being included in this round of indictments. CNN quickly parroted the Politico headline on air, further spreading this false information.
Cooler heads are now starting to prevail across social media, as more people read past the inaccurate headlines and realize that Trump’s lawyers didn’t actually say that Donald Trump won’t be indicted. But this has nonetheless set off a new round of doomsday hysteria about how Trump is somehow magically going to get away with it all.
Months ago, Palmer Report warned everyone that once the initial indictments were set to come down in this investigation, the media would likely try to drum up controversy and ratings by falsely implying that the initial indictments would be the only indictments. Sure enough, the media is now doing precisely that. As always, your job is to push back against this ratings-driven histrionic nonsense, and demand that the media be more honest in its reporting.
