Donald Trump just spelled out his great and unmatched idiocy

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

“President” Donald J. Trump has been facing bad news the last few days. Whistleblowers are more prevalent against him than an NFL Sunday’s worth of referees. He knows he is in trouble and, perhaps in a last gasp, he is engaging in troubling behavior that must be stopped.

Early on Monday, Trump announced he was pulling United States troops from northern Syria. This permits Turkey to attack the Kurds unfettered. Europeans expressed anger and surprise at this abrupt move. It was alleged to damage “U.S. credibility and stability in the entire region.” The feckless Republicans, at least a few of them, spoke up against this move, with Senators McConnell and Graham expressing concerns, as well as Nikki Haley.

However, Trump defended it, in a manner which evoked the Wizard of Oz, tweeting: “As I have stated strongly before, and just to reiterate, if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I’ve done before!). They must, with Europe and others, watch over the captured ISIS fighters and families. The U.S. has done far more than anyone could have ever expected, including the capture of 100% of the ISIS Caliphate. It is time now for others in the region, some of great wealth, to protect their own territory. THE USA IS GREAT!”

Not to rest at that mass destruction and abandonment of our allies and friends in favor of Putin and Russia, Trump reportedly is considering withdrawing from the Open Skies Treaty, which allows the United States and its allies to monitor Russia’s military and keep it in check. Representative Eliot Engel sent a letter on Monday to the National Security Advisor, stating that “American withdrawal would only benefit Russia and be harmful to our allies’ and partners’ national security interests.”

We are witnessing a person who is irrationally exposing the United States and the world to a dangerous place, one where Russia rules the roost. Everyone must wake up and stop this insanity and this favor-rendering by the president.
