Why Elizabeth Warren is really launching the Warren Democrats
I love that Elizabeth Warren is launching the “Warren Democrats” today. She’s been the true leader of the progressive movement all along, and it’s time she takes control. She’ll identify, endorse, and support a number of excellent democratic candidates in the 2020 election, up and down the ballot.
I trust that Elizabeth Warren will use her group to rally support behind Joe Biden when the time comes. She was always going to get behind the 2020 Democratic nominee for President, and Biden will be the nominee.
With the primary race already over, the general election not having yet begun, and most people more inclined to follow the coronavirus crisis right now than the presidential election, now is probably not the time for Warren to endorse Biden. It’ll have more impact if it happens down the road. But Warren will help bring this party together, and help undo some of the divisive damage that Sanders has done.
