Who’s really at fault for this one

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The media has spent all year facilitating and amplifying the Republican Party’s false narratives about Critical Race Theory. Some major news outlets have explained that the Republicans are lying about it.

Other major news outlets have repeated the Republicans’ lies about it unchallenged. But either way, the media has spent all year obsessively talking about Critical Race Theory, and pretending the entire nation was talking about it – and now as a result, the nation is talking about it.

Now the media is blaming the Democrats for allowing the election cycle to be about Critical Race Theory. You see the pattern here, right? It’s impossible for the Democrats to change the narrative, when the media has already collectively decided that obsessively talking about a non-issue like Critical Race Theory (for or against) was the path to ratings success in 2021. We, the audience, have to force the media to stop doing this to us.
