No wonder Adam Schiff sounded the alarm – the whistleblower complaint about Donald Trump is stunning beyond belief
When House Intel Committee Chairman Adam Schiff recently sounded the alarm about a whistleblower complaint which documented a White House official having leaked classified information, it sent the imagination reeling. The most dire, and most morbidly poetic, explanation would be that Trump gave classified information to Vladimir Putin. Now it turns out that wasn’t just the stuff of imagination.
This evening the Washington Post revealed that the whistleblower complaint was specifically about a phone call that Donald Trump made to a foreign leader. WaPo spells out that Trump had interactions with five different foreign leaders within the timeframe that the complaint could have been referencing. The thing is, only one of the five was a phone call – and it was with Vladimir Putin.
Donald Trump made a “promise” to that leader – who based on this reporting almost has to be Putin – that was so troubling, the whistleblower felt compelled to rat Trump out to the inspector general. It’s not at all clear who this whistleblower is, but the person would have needed official or unofficial access to the phone call in question.
The whistleblower could have been someone in the room, or a translator, or someone who saw the translator’s notes after the fact. It’s probably a good thing that Trump can’t narrow down the person’s identity. But the real story here is that the whistleblower report is now 100% confirmed to be against Donald Trump, and not merely against one of his allies – and that the report documents behavior on Trump’s part that’s stunningly traitorous, even by his standards.
It’s also worth noting that the Washington Post could only have gotten this story if the whistleblower, or someone on the inside who is familiar with the whistleblower report, leaked it. We expect that individual to leak more details soon. This is a bombshell. Read the full WaPo story here.
