Donald Trump whines because no one will save Donald Trump Jr

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

You’d think that Donald Trump, as lazy as he is, would have used his long flight to Japan as an opportunity to doze off. Instead, clearly agitated, Trump spent his flight periodically tweeting and retweeting hyperbolic nonsense about how the Democrats are out to get him. Somewhere in there, he unwittingly gave something away.

After Donald Trump instructed Attorney General William Barr to declassify large chunks of U.S. intelligence community secrets just to harm the agencies involved, Trump received pushback for it from all sides. Naturally, Senate Intelligence Committee Vice Chairman Mark Warner, a Democrat, was one of them. But Trump decided that Warner needed to be singled out, in oddly specific fashion.

Trump posted this tweet overnight: “Democrat Senator Mark Warner is acting and talking like he is in total control of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Their is nothing bipartisan about him. He should not be allowed to take “command” of that Committee. Too important! Remember when he spoke to the Russian jokester?” Sure, we could make fun of him for still not having figured out the difference between “their” and “there” – but there’s something far more important in here.

Donald Trump is whining about how much power Mark Warner has on the Senate Intelligence Committee because he doesn’t want to admit to himself that its Chairman, Richard Burr, is the one who is forcing Donald Trump Jr to show up and testify about his role in the Trump-Russia scandal. Trump can’t acknowledge that Burr is opting to protect himself instead of protecting the Trump family, so Trump is trying to blame Burr’s actions on Warner. This one isn’t difficult to spot: Trump is worried that the GOP selfishly won’t do enough to protect him and his family when the time comes.
