Donald Trump whines and cries as Fox News cuts it losses
Fox News is a big reason Donald Trump is in office to begin with. Its nonstop lies about Hillary Clinton, and its nonstop fawning coverage of Trump’s 2016 campaign, helped him greatly. But Fox is a for-profit business, and as Trump has faltered, Fox has begun giving him significantly less favorable coverage in order to keep in line with what its audience is expecting.
Suffice it to say that Trump is not happy. During his rally today, he whined, “I don’t know what the hell happened to Fox … Somewhere along the line we lost Fox and that’s okay. But that’s a big difference.” It’s interesting that Trump is now talking about a “difference” between the 2016 and 2020 elections. After all, he (illegitimately) won the 2016 election, so if there’s a “difference” in the 2020 outcome, it would be him losing.
It sounds like Trump is already preparing to blame Fox News if he loses, so he can promote his own pro-Trump cable news network instead. Of course in reality Trump will end up arrested and on trial for his crimes if he loses, so he’ll hardly have time to be launching any new media ventures. But he does appear to be trying to give himself an alternate happy ending to this story if he loses the election. Our job is to spend these final days driving voter turnout and make sure he loses.
