Where’s Trump? [Updated]
Update, 1:11am – Trump has finally spoken up, and it’s even worse than if he’d remained quiet. There has been a tragic and likely fatal collision between a passenger jet and a military helicopter in the Washington DC area tonight. Rescue efforts are underway, and we’re all hoping for the best. But seriously, where’s Donald Trump?
This is the guy who wanted to be “President” of the United States again. So where’s his leadership? The White House has finally released a brief generic statement that was obviously written by his babysitters. Yet Trump himself still hasn’t bothered to say anything about it on social media. In fact his most recent post is an attempt at hawking his own book. Seriously, where is this guy? What an embarrassment.
Meanwhile there are serious questions to be asked. Just a week ago, Trump gutted the leadership of a federal airline safety commission. Whether or not that contributed that what happened tonight, it’ll almost certainly impact the government’s ability to investigate and respond to the crash properly. Government exists for a reason. Under Donald Trump, the government doesn’t function.
