What the new tell-all book about Melania Trump really reveals
If you’ve followed Melania Trump over the past several years, you know she’s essentially a vapid ghoul. She played up the racist “birther” conspiracy against President Obama. She wore that asinine jacket during her photo op with the kids in her husband’s cages. She ruined the historic White House Rose Garden because she thought she was entitled to.
But most of what the general public has heard about Melania over the years has come in the form of the puff pieces that the mainstream media often writes about her in the hope of currying favor and access. After all, when she vanished awhile back, it took the media nearly a month to finally start publicly asking questions.
Now all of this kid-glove coverage is being upended by a new tell all book from Melania’s former best friend Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who spent enough time inside the Trump world to be credible in her claims, and who reportedly even has recordings of Melania to back up those claims. The media can’t just ignore the book. But we’re seeing a number of headlines portray the book as painting a “shocking” picture of a vapid and soulless Melania Trump, when the publicly available information about her has always painted this picture.
So yeah, the book is probably worth buying and reading, because it’ll surely be full of granular and intimate details about Melania Trump that help fill in the full picture. But the only people who will be shocked by the book are the people who haven’t been paying attention – which is most people. The media had a job to do when it came to covering Melania. Now it’s taken a tell all book to do the job instead. What the book really reveals is that the media didn’t do its job.
