What the hell is John Bolton’s problem?

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Former Trump National Security Council expert Fiona Hill publicly testified today in the House impeachment hearings against Donald Trump. She told everyone all about what she saw and heard John Bolton say and do. She also invoked executive privilege for matters that she felt weren’t relevant to the proceedings.

Why in the hell can’t John Bolton just show up and do the same thing? Why is he insisting that the courts order that former White House officials testify, before he shows up and testifies? Why is he hiding behind his former underling Fiona Hill in the meantime? Why did she have to stick her neck out to do what he’s afraid to do?

Part of it is probably just that John Bolton is a piece of crap. We’ve known for many years that he’s a disgusting warmonger who doesn’t have one-tenth the character or nuance that Fiona Hill put on display today. But still, we saw today that there would have been no identifiable cost to Bolton if he’d been the one testifying today instead of Hill.

That is, unless there’s something we don’t know about. Does Donald Trump have dirt on John Bolton? Is that what’s going on here? Or was Bolton really just stalling until he could finally get his book deal inked this past week? Something doesn’t add up here. The judge is set to rule on Monday, so after all this nonsense, Bolton could end up having to testify next week anyway.
