In so many fairy tales, there usually exists a Prince. Call him Prince Charming, Prince Lir, or Prince Caspian, but whatever specific Prince you’re reading about; they often have certain coinciding traits, some of them being courage, honor, and devotion.

This is what the GOP had hoped to find for themselves. After being creamed, many a time, in many an election, the GOP really wanted to win.

So they fantasized about who could help them achieve that goal. They longed for their own fairy tale, where they could nominate, as their Presidential hopeful, a true Prince Charming, someone who would charm voters and make them listen. a steadfast prince, a mighty royal one, able to leap tall buildings and spread Republican bullshit in new and innovative ways.

Alas, it is not to be. Instead, the GOP got stuck with a bunch of also-rans, losers who did not and do not have it in them to build a vision for America, to fight for better lives for their people. No, the GOP did not get their Prince. Instead all they got was their frogs.

And they’re scared. They’re scared because of Iowa. They’re scared because they are noticing a drop – a big one — in enthusiasm for Donald Trump.

Trump — if he is the nominee will need to get more votes than before, in 2020. How will that be possible? Because Trump is LOSING voters, not gaining. And Republicans are terrified. Republicans are concerned that only 15 percent of registered Republicans even bothered to show up in Iowa. They’re saying that does not bode well for Donald Trump. They are right.

They’re also worried because of President Biden’s amazing fundraising hauls. The GOP is concerned about lots of things only they can’t TALK ABOUT these things publicly, or Prince Insurrection might destroy them with name-calling.

There is an expression: “To have a friend, you must first be one.” I say, to have a worthy candidate for your cause, your cause must first be worthy.

The GOP’s causes are like unintelligible paper scrawls. Nobody knows what they want to do and who they want to do it to (except, of course, women, LGTBQ people, black and brown people. They know Republicans want to do something alright and that something is to make their lives a living hell.)

So spare me any Republican woes, any thoughts, and dreams of princes. No prince is riding in to save the day for THESE people. Nobody with any degree of courage, honor, or devotion would get within Ten feet of a Republican campaign..
