What is this idiot even talking about?
Last night Donald Trump’s tweets took such a turn for the inexplicably weird, it resulted in “Take On Me” and “Breitbart” trending in tandem on Twitter. It turns out that was just something of a warm-up act, as this morning Trump revealed a whole new aspect to his worsening erraticism.
Donald Trump started off this morning by insisting that because the stock market “WentI up BIG” during the 2016 transition period, he should get credit for it, or something like that. Most people couldn’t get past whatever “WentI” is supposed to be. Also, the stock market ended up going way down today. But that turned out to be the relative highlight of Trump’s morning. He then went on to retweet a viral video of an out-of-control beverage cart being stopped in the nick of time by a truck, apparently unaware that most of the nation had already spent the previous day joking about how Trump was the cart and Nancy Pelosi was driving the truck. Then it got worse.
Trump once again called for the arrest of Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff (spoiler alert: he wasn’t arrested), before once again attacking Fed Chair Jay Powell in a way that was apparently intended to make him resign (he didn’t resign). Somewhere in there Trump tweeted “Try to impeach this” along with a wildly inaccurate 2016 electoral map.
At this point no one has any idea what Donald Trump is even talking about – least of all him. He’s not capable of handling what’s happening to him right now, on a psychological or cognitive level, and it’s showing.
