What is this idiot even talking about?

Dear Palmer Report readers,

We all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Journalists will be prosecuted. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're looking to start funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens or how dark things get. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $3360 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer
Palmer Report

Last week Donald Trump had a complete conniption about a new Fox News poll which said that 51% of Americans want him impeached and removed. All of the major polls are saying something similar right now, but Trump took this one personally in particular, because of his close relationship with certain Fox News personalities. Now he’s doing something, well, almost indescribable.

This afternoon Donald Trump tweeted “Just another FAKE SUPPRESSION POLL, this time from Fox News, of course!” In the process he quoted a six day old tweet from his own adviser Kellyanne Conway, who was referencing the same old Fox News poll he threw a fit about last time. Yet Trump appears to think this Fox News poll is brand new, and he doesn’t appear to have any recollection of having thrown a fit about it last week.

On its own, we would’t read too much into this. But we’ve all seen that since impeachment began, Donald Trump has been declining markedly in the cognitive and psychological departments. Is it possible that he’s now at a point where he has no recollection of something that he was obsessed with just a week ago? This is the same guy who couldn’t understand yesterday that there’s a difference between the first all-female spacewalk and the first woman to participate in a spacewalk.

We’re not sure what’s going on with this guy anymore. The worse things get for him, and the more it becomes clear that he’s going to have trouble surviving this (as a president or as a free man), the stranger his behavior gets. If Trump is faking all of this because he’s working on a mental incompetence defense, he should know that it only legally applies if he can demonstrate that he was mentally incompetent at the time he committed the crimes. It’s too late for him to put on an act after the fact.
