What is going on with Donald Trump’s Twitter account tonight?

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. When Tuesday began, Donald Trump used his Twitter account to viciously and dishonestly attack the Democratic Governors of New York and Michigan over their handling of his coronavirus mess. It was a clear sign that his brief moment of non-psychotic behavior during Monday’s press conference was a mere blip.

But by the time Tuesday ended, Donald Trump was using his Twitter account to try to atone for his idiocy. He retweeted the coronavirus messages posted by the Democratic Governors of New Jersey and Louisiana. He tweeted “The world is at war with a hidden enemy,” a stark departure from his racist insistence last night that America is at war with a “Chinese Virus.” So the question has to be asked: what’s going on with Trump’s Twitter account tonight?

Have Donald Trump’s handlers once again briefly dragged him back to rational behavior? Or are they merely posting these tweets and retweets behind his back, while he’s passed out face down in a bowl of Cheetos somewhere? We deserve answers as to what’s going on. At best Trump is swinging wildly back and forth between completely incompatible sentiments, suggesting some kind of psychological break. At worst, Trump is such a goner that his own staffers are clumsily trying to cover for him. Either way, it’s not a good look.
