New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern used her press briefing this week to reassure children about the possibility of the Easter bunny not showing up this year. This is how a real leader takes care of her nation. Yes, The Easter bunny may be a silly concept by adult standards. But she understands that the children in her nation are going to legitimately worry about something like this – particularly at at time when their entire worlds have been turned upside down.

Donald Trump used his press briefing this week to accuse an Asian-looking reporter of being a Chinese government spy, and to make dangerously false claims about a drug that he couldn’t pronounce. It’s not difficult to figure out what the problem is here: being a leader requires a quality called leadership, and Trump simply doesn’t have any. Also, he’s not human.
