What a slap in the face

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

It feels like a slap, doesn’t it? I do not speak of being slapped physically. I speak of the emotional slap– the one doled out by a Court — a court of smug, arrogant, incredibly cruel men (and woman.)

It feels like they have slapped us — a slap from the Court to all women — hundreds of millions of women all over this country. Your rights don’t matter, says Mr. Alito. Slap. Your right to make your own decisions isn’t valued, says Clarence Thomas. Slap.

It was the slap felt around the country. It was a slap from the lowest Court in the land. I will never address these particular people as Justices again. They don’t deserve the title. None of them deserve to wear those robes. They deserve to wear the robes of depravity.

President Biden will do all he can. He gave a good speech, and one could plainly see how much this decision has upset him. But at the end of the day –President Biden is one man. And while he is the President — he can’t single-handedly fix this for us.

At the end of the day, it is still up to us. So let’s vote. Biden says this is not the last we shall hear of this and how right he is. Roe is now on the ballot. It is THE ISSUE. It is OUR issue. Let’s do this.
