We’re running out of time
I’m not going to give up on these highly winnable midterms just because the media manufactured some scary headlines this week for ratings, and neither should you. Let’s spend these final three weeks working our tails off to help Democratic candidates win this whole damn thing!
Remember, your job with eighteen days left is not to sit back and critique the Democratic candidates or the DNC, or tweet about how “terrified” you are, or sit and fret while staring at MSNBC, or any of that kind of thing. That behavior is for a different place and time. This is crunch time. You have to spend these eighteen days volunteering for candidates, or sending postcards, or posting candidate donation links on your social media pages, or whatever you can do to help.
Eighteen days from now, you can go back to spending your time however you want. If you enjoy watching cable news, your TV will still be there when you come back to it. If you have concerns about overall Democratic Party leadership or strategy, those are things you’ll want to spend 2023 addressing with regard to the 2024 election. But for now, with eighteen days left in the most pivotal midterms in U.S. history, it’s time for you to ask yourself what you can do to help win the midterms. Put in the work these final two and a half weeks, leave it all on the field, and afterward you’ll forever be glad you did.
