Well that didn’t last long

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Over the weekend, Donald Trump loudly tried to convince us on Twitter that he wouldn’t be doing regular press briefings going forward; he blamed the media for how his briefings are being portrayed. We all knew this wouldn’t last, as Trump’s malignant narcissism clinically compels him to be the center of attention, even when it harms him.

People have been taking bets on which day this week Trump would finally snap and decide he had to hold a press briefing. If you had your money on “today” then you win. Trump’s fake press secretary Kayleigh McEnany announced earlier today that there will be no briefing today. But then this afternoon she posted this:

That’s right, Donald Trump has decided at the last minute that he needs to hold a press briefing today after all. These disastrous briefings have driven Trump’s already-bad poll numbers even lower. But like any addict, feeding his addiction is more important to him than whether he wins or loses. We’ll watch today’s briefing so you don’t have to. This garbage shouldn’t be on TV to begin with. But keep in mind that these briefings only make it harder for him to win in November.
