Welcome to Manic Monday

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Most of you, if you’re old enough, remember the Bangles song Manic Monday. Fewer of you probably recall that the song was in fact written by Prince. Why am I bringing this up? Because in truth, I’m not even sure how to describe what this particular Monday might end up looking like by the time it’s all said and done.

First, we’re facing the big unknown of indictments and arrests. Because it’s Monday, the courts are open, meaning it’s a logical opportunity for Robert Mueller to bust some people and bring them before a judge for arraignment. We know that Jerome Corsi is about to be arrested, and we’re pretty sure Roger Stone is going with him, but is Mueller really going to bother arresting these sideshow clowns before he’s ready to do a larger roundup of more important people like Donald Trump Jr? We just don’t know, and that’s only half of today’s mystery.

For instance, is Matthew Whitaker still a thing? He was clearly installed to stop Mueller from doing anything, yet Mueller seems to still be doing whatever he wants. Where did Whitaker go? Is he in witness protection? Did he trip and fall head first into one of his own scam toilets? Do we have any idea who’s running the Department of Justice anymore, or does the lack of a legitimate Attorney General mean that everyone is just working on the honor system? Are the DOJ vending machines safe? Yes, I’m being absurd, but I’m just trying to match the tone of what’s been going on with this idiocy.

Finally, there is the question of Donald Trump himself. This guy has multiple severe malignant psychological failings, along with possible early onset dementia, and he’s facing the pressure of a treason scandal that’s going to send him and a large chunk of his family to prison. He prematurely wandered offstage at the G20 summit, muttered “Get me out of here,” and spent the weekend not tweeting. This guy is more brain-broken than ever. What’s he going to do today? How things play out today is anyone’s guess.
